How to understand China? How to make sense of it? I' m afraid the lazy western mind assume that it can just think in western terms, through western principles(?), according to western values and western criteria and there by, make sense of china... This is not the case. We can not possible understand a society like China, with such a different history and such a different culture by simply using western centric ways of thinking...
This is a big problem for us, because for over 200 years west dominated the world and in the process has come to believe that essentially the process of modernization, is the process of westernization, that there is only one destination in terms of the process of modernization, and that is ultimately to be like us.
